Migrating your ADSL connection to UKFSN

FREE Migration Offer

Migrating your ADSL service to UKFSN is free - we do not charge any migration or activation fee for IPStream/DataStream ADSL migrations.*.

We can migrate you from your existing ADSL service provider to any of our ADSL services. Even if the migration requires upgrading your line to a faster speed we can do this at no extra charge.

The migration works as follows...

To allow us to initiate migration, you should contact your existing ISP and ask them to provide you with a Migration Authorisation Code (MAC Code). Once you have this you can place your migration order.

Important points

We cannot initiate a migration until you provide us with your MAC Code.

Migration usually results in little or no interruption to your service however this is subject to BT carrying out the work without any problems. Usually if there is a problem BT will delay the migration until it is fixed. Migrations usually complete in about a week.

Please note that although migration to UKFSN is free of charge the monthly charge for your service applies from the date of migration and the relevant invoice for service will be generated by Entanet, our ADSL partner, once the migration has completed.

Our policy on migration away from UK Free Software Network

We believe that the level of service we offer you is the only thing that will make you want to stay with us.

If, for whatever reason, you decide that you would prefer to migrate away from our ADSL service to another ISP you will need to obtain a MAC. This can be done either by logging into the MyAccount control panel on our website and clicking on the "Get MAC" option or by emailing support@ukfsn.org with a request for the MAC. Usually we are able to supply a MAC within 4 working hours via our website however it can sometimes take up to 5 days to issue a MAC - if you have not managed to obtain a MAC within 2 working days you should email support@ukfsn.org and let us know so we can raise the matter with BT if necessary.

Do note that your contract with us may have a minimum term and that if this is the case you are required to pay for the full term of the contract even if you decide to leave. With the exception of managed bonded ADSL services the minimum term is 1 month. Managed bonded ADSL services are supplied on a 12 month minimum term.

If you decide to leave we will act reasonably to assist you in doing so - we just don't think you'll want to.

*Important Note - We do not offer free migration from LLU connections. This is because the way they are processed requires a full cease and reprovision of ADSL on the line and BT charge the full activation charge for a new line in such cases.
