General Information
Modem / ISDN Dialup Number: 0845 604 0875
Use CHAP or PAP authentication.
Make sure you append @ukfsn to your username for the dialup login.
for Linux
As with any other platform you do need the following in order to make a connection to the Internet:
- A modem or ISDN card/TA
- TCP/IP Software (the Linux kernel includes this by default)
- PPP support (either compiled into the kernel or as a kernel module)
Connecting to the Internet with Linux is very easy. Each distribution will include a dialup configuration tool to allow you to setup everything you need. See the documentation for your Linux distribution for this. If your distrobution does not include such a tool we recommend that you use WvDial to set up your connection if you are not on a broadband ADSL connection.
for UNIX and other platforms
In order to dial into our access numbers you will need a modem or ISDN TA, dialer software and support for PPP and the TCP/IP protocol.
